Comments:

Simple infusion @ 64 degC

- 23 litres to fermenter
- pitched Mon-30-Nov @ 8:30pm, with yeast starter from top-cropped 'Need to Mow'
- initial temperature 18 degC, overnight down to 15 (freezer was cold)
- Tuesday morning no activity yet

Sunday-13-December
Bottled the lot
- Screwed up massivly here, as I forgot 1 of the 750's of wort so everything will be under carbonated
- 3 * 750ml (2.25L) wort added to 20L fermented wort for carbonated ( should have been 4)
- carbonation calculator said that 3L wort added should produce 5.7 g/L CO2, which was less than I used last time, as had some comments that it was over carbonated.
- using 2.25L wort should produce 4.4 g/L, and it's going to be well under carbonated for style - idiot

--Sat-4-january-2010
- Carbonation ended up being not too bad in the wort-primed bottles, but could have gone a little highter
- head retention was poor
- nasty 'tinny' taste in the beer, dave describes is as 'chemically', which I can understand, I thought this was due to the long boil, however it appears it's due to the yeast, as my starter for DrinkYourWheaties taste's the same, and now it's going to spoil that batch, as i've already put it into the fermenter. LESSON: always taste your starters.

NOTE: I realised later that it was not the yeast, but the wort I used to creat the starter which had the taste in it. I believe this was because of all the hops i put in, some EK, and super pride
